Each cat is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV tested. We are the only organization in Idaho Falls to test every cat for FIV/FeLV. Our adoption fee covers these services.

Many of our cats and kittens come from colonies where we are providing TNR services. Some come from owner surrenders, or stray cats found by the public. We do not breed cats.
-
TNR stands for trap-neuter-release. This is a free service we provide to unowned cats, whether they are feral (unfriendly), or community cats. Adult cats who cannot be placed as pets are trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and released. Kittens who can be socialized are removed and go through our adoption program.

Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (sometimes referred to as feline AIDS) is an acquired infection often found in intact, outdoor cats. The current research shows that FIV postive cats can live with FIV negative cats without infecting them. FIV is spread through deep bites and reproduction. To provide the best support to our adopters, we test each cat before adoption.
-
Feline Leukemia Virus is an acquired infection often found in intact, outdoor cats. It can be lived with and symptoms can be managed, but there is not currently a cure. Research is being done on how infectious it is, but the current best practice is to only adopt FeLV positive cats to other positive or vaccinated househods. To provide the best support to our adopters, we test each cat before adoption.
